Good morning Very Happy

All over the online cardmaking sites I have been seeing versions of a "tri-shutter card" and I've been wanting to try it for a while. World Card Making Day is the perfect time to challenge myself by trying something new.

This is what I made:

Here's what I did:

You will need:
* half a sheet of cardstock (12"x6")
* co-ordinating patterned paper - 12"x6" OR equivalent amount in offcuts
* co-ordinating embellishments

STEP 1: CUTTING

* Cut cardstock to 12"x6".
* Measure out and cut two slits in the cardstock as shown:

STEP 2: SCORING

** Don't make any folds yet. Make all the scores first **

* Score as indicated by the dotted lines. All measurements are left to right, along the 12" side of the cardstock.

STEP 3: FOLDING

* Make the folds, alternating valley and mountain folds, as shown:

STEP 4: DECORATE

* Attach patterned paper. I used a single piece (half-sheet) of patterned paper, and trimmed it down into strips and panels to fit within the folded sections of the card. You could use several co-ordinating papers or use up some offcuts from your scraps. You could also double-mat the panels with a different co-ordinating cardstock.
* Add embellishments such as journalling cards, stamped images, ribbon, flowers etc etc.
* Take care that the card will still fold flat for posting if required.

My challenge for you this weekend is to create a tri-shutter card and upload your creation into the gallery Very Happy

Thanks ladies!

This was a huge challenge for me. I'm sure the more experienced cardies amongst us have made them before, but I'd love to see a new creation!

Just uploaded mine, thanks for the challenge Karen, it wasn't as hard as what I thought it would be, I kept my card quite simple though.
